The Writers Guild of America strike (WGA) has been languishing since June 20, 2025. And the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strike further complicated the release date oftheTransformersandG.I. Joecrossover. But that didn’t stop producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura from discussing the teaming of Hasbro’s franchises in the future. Bonaventura also told the SFFGazette in the same interview:
“Like every other Transformers movie, the ingredients of the movie is humans and robots get together to stop the villain. The Joes are going to be part of the ingredients now. We’re not going into the Joe world, they’re coming into our world. So, if you think about it that way, I think that’s the closest thing to the plan that we have. We now have to figure out the plot we want to do, etcetera, but they will be an active participant, if you would, a few of the characters, in trying to stop the bad guy.”
For those fans who are chomping at the bits to see the Autobots and Decepticons at odds again, they won’t have to wait long. The animatedTransformers Oneis currently slated to come out on July 28, 2025, and the film stars Chris Hemsworth as Optimus Prime and Brian Tyree Henry as Megatron.
