Is ‘The Waterfront’ Worth Watching?

At first glance, the reviews forThe Waterfrontare nothing special and don’t suggest it is a show you would want to give up sleep for. However the 64% Tomatometer score and 68% Popcornmeter rating are still fresh, and those who like the series, really love it.

Critics found plenty to fault with the show’s soap-like quality, with some calling it “overstuffed,” and “too familiar to be worth your time.”The Daily Beast’sCaroline Siede noted that the show’s focus on a family dynasty and the outrageous behavior that they display to keep their affairs moving along the way they want could appeal toYellowstonefans, who might “be excited to watch that show’s vibe CW-ified and ported over to Netflix.” Based on the show’s chart-topping position, it seems they certainly have been completely reeled in by the fishing family drama.

Those who watched the show appeared to be very firm in their opinions – either it is “fan-f-ing-tastic” or the worst piece of badly written, badly acted trash to grace screens this year. It seems that if you are afan of Taylor Sheridan’sYellowstonemelodrama, thenThe Waterfrontcould well be something that could be your replacement series while the TV mastermind gets his next spinoffs together. If not, then you maybe won’t be one of those staying up until 4 a.m. to see how the first season ends.
