The Silent Hill saga is set to return with a new chapter that breaks away from the traditions of its predecessors, as showcased in this special event.

All the Latest on Silent Hill f

The team behind Silent Hill f has unveiled a new trailer for the game, which will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC at a yet-to-be-determined date.

Under the concept of “finding beauty in horror,” the game transports us to 1960s Japan. Players will visit the quiet town of Ebisugaoka, home to the protagonist, Shimizu Hinako.

Everything changes when the town becomes engulfed in a thick fog, transforming it into a living nightmare filled with Silent Hill’s signature monstrous creatures.

A Journey of Survival

With silence taking over the streets and the mist growing denser, Hinako must navigate Ebisugaoka’s twisted paths, solving puzzles and confronting terrifying entities to survive.

Silent Hill f features a script by renowned writer Ryukishi07, who also appeared at the event. Supporting the story, the soundtrack will include contributions from Akira Yamaoka, the franchise’s star composer.

Yamaoka will be joined by composer Kensuke Inage, chosen for his ability to blend traditional Japanese music with the game’s horror elements.

There’s no doubt the game will boast an impressive visual presentation, but its narrative will be just as compelling, focusing on themes like doubt, remorse, and inescapable choices.

In fact, the development team visited real-world locations such as Kanayama, Gero, in Gifu Prefecture. The town’s houses and alleyways were photographed to authentically recreate the 1960s setting in the game.

A Shift Towards Japanese Horror

Leaning more toward Japanese horror rather than the Western-style horror of previous entries, Silent Hill f features designs by Kera. This artist has given the game’s creatures a uniquely unsettling look, perfectly blending beauty and terror.

Visually, the game follows in the footsteps of the Silent Hill 2 Remake by utilizing Unreal Engine 5, which promises outstanding results—especially on the PS5 Pro, where the game will be enhanced.
