Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7 will be making their way to Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S this year.
Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7 Heads to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2022; Save Data Carries Over
Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7 will be gaining some upgrades as they join consoles Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S this year. All three titles will receive ray tracing, high frame rate and 3D audio. Those experiencing the games on Playstation 5 will also enjoy haptic feedback functions with the DualSense controller.
Further good news, those who already own the games on previous consoles will be able to gain the upgrade for free on their respective consoles. This means the PS4 version to the digital PS5 upgrade, or the Xbox Smart Delivery for Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S. Those on PC will also be able to gain the patch for free as well. Players can also use their original saved date for PS4 and Xbox One, and carry on where they left off. Capcom also confirmed the DLC for Resident Evil 7 Gold will also transfer.

For a quick recap Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was originally released in 2017, gaining traction with its first-person perspective and horror experience. Resident Evil 2 and 3 are remakes of the classic Resident Evil titles, getting refreshed experience and modern graphics. Resident Evil 2 remake released in 2019, returning players to Raccoon city, playing as Claire Redfield as she gets separated from Leon Kennedy, as all hell breaks loose.
