Even the most staunch collectible fans would never want to play with any of the toys in Poppy Playtime. Some may be more menacing than others, but all of them can kill you before you can even blink. Now that we’re four chapters into thishorror game, we can comfortably rank all the boss fights in Poppy Playtime from the easy to the not-so-easy.

10 Games to Play If You Love Poppy Playtime

Do you love Poppy Playtime and are craving more games like it? Luckily the mascot horror subgenre has plenty for you!

Although plenty of these boss fights, both major and minor, have similar traits, like using your GrabPack to pull a lever, swing around, etc., they all bring something unique to the table. Some of these traits make them almost too easy to get by, while others are anxiety-inducing.

I’ll be including some of the minor antagonists as you spend enough time in those portions to consider them smaller boss fights, but I won’t include creatures we’ve yet to fully encounter, like the Prototype or Boxy Boo.

11Mini Huggies

Tiny and Still Mighty

Time to play extreme whack-a-mole. The Mini Huggies are miniature versions of Huggy Wuggy, the iconic face of Poppy Playtime. But they’re not nearly as frightening as the big man himself.

As a minor boss fight, it’s extremely easy. Just keep your head on a swivel, listen out for them coming out of the holes, and you should succeed in no time.

10Doey the Doughman

A Friend Turned Enemy

Doey starts out quite friendly but is corrupted by the end of the chapter, and his whole body transforms into something more grotesque. That’s probably the scariest part about him. Otherwise, the sequence is decidedly not as frightening as others in the game.

10 Least Scary Horror Games for Beginners

Games for when you want to be scared…but not too much.

That’s what gives it a much lower rating, even though the encounter is large in scale. It’s not hard to win even if Doey grabs you. You can simply shoot your way out of his grasp, unlike insta-death with other characters.

9The Doctor

A Constant Nagging Source

The Doctor could have been a strong contender for a top boss fight in Poppy Playtime, but like with Doey, he’s too easy to avoid. You never fight him, exactly, just the things he controls.

It’s a portion of the game that could have benefited from a true stealth feature. As it stands, although you have to sneak around the machines never knowing which will come to life, you’re able to still run from them and survive even if they hit you.

8PJ Pug-a-Pillar

A Steady Chase Sequence

Both adorable and disgusting-looking, PJ Pug-a-Pillar is another minor encounter that’s nonetheless eerie. You can only move when the lights are out. So, if you’ve messed up somehow using your GrabPack, you have no choice but to wait, watch, and listen as he scurries closer.

The section is brief though, and if you pay attention to where you’re supposed to go, you can get out promptly. It’s still scary enough to rank it above some of the bigger boss fights.

Doctor Harley in Poppy Playtime

He Almost Always Finds You

Yarnaby easily offers most of the tension in Chapter 4 among the boss encounters. He stalks you a few times, but his boss fight is great because he makes you hesitate to escape. Each time you use your GrabPack, he finds you, forcing you to hurry up and hide.

After some time, it can feel a bit tiresome, but the stress is still there. The worst part is when you must keep your hand in place for a certain amount of time as Yarnaby continues to stalk, and you have to move around to stay out of sight.

6Bunzo Bunny

It Keeps Getting Closer

Bunzo Bunny is yet another part of Mommy Long Legs’ games, placing it as a minor boss in Poppy Playtime. You don’t fight though or even run. Instead, it’s a memory game mixed with Simon Says.

There’s no denying how stressed you’ll feel as you have a certain amount of time to repeat as Bunzo Bunny steadily descends from the ceiling, especially when they add in symbols with the colors and more buttons to press.

My memory is choppy enough without the threat of a killer bunny looming overhead.

5Huggy Wuggy

He’s Definitely Not Cuddly

Huggy Wuggy, the most recognized character from Poppy Playtime, has a memorable boss encounter. His towering form is fear-inducing from the get-go, and when he first comes at you, it’s sluggish. But that quickly changes as we soon see just how fast he moves.

The chase is filled with anxiety, and going through the vents gives that claustrophobic feeling that works as a perfect introduction to this horror game. One misstep, and it’s all over.

4Miss Delight

Keep Your Eye on Her

Miss Delight is simply a scary creature. She carries Barb, the mace she used to kill her sisters with, and she can be absolutely brutal. Rushing through the school and trying to remember the layout to get out is intense and fun at the same time.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard - Hardest Bosses, Ranked

These bosses in Dragon Age: The Veilguard will put your skills, strength and sanity to the test.

The sequence is unique, as if you look at her, she freezes. It’s a great callback to her lore and keeps the chase more interesting than some of the others.

A Tragic Character Meeting a Tragic End

DogDay is a truly tragic figure, and one of the few toys who tries to help you. But unlike with Kissy Missy, he turns completely antagonistic like Doey did. The main difference is that DogDay is being controlled after the Ruined Smiling Critters forced themselves inside his broken body.

The chase is breathtaking even if it is short. DogDay is totally creepy as he crawls behind you. You can hear him choking on the Critters along the way. The scattered Critters blocking your path every now and then makes the encounter a bit tougher to get by too.

2Mommy Long Legs

Don’t Be Fooled by Her Sweet Nature

Mommy Long Legs continues to give me the chills. She has a false sense of care undercut by her insanity that reaches a head when you win all her games. Her chase is more open compared to Huggy Wuggy, but her taunts, cries, and random stretches of her arms make thechase sequence horrifying.

What stood out the most, funnily enough, is her death. Those cries will never not be haunting, as well as how the Prototype casually grabs the remainder of her body to pull away.
