The total shipments and digital sales for Nioh have now surpassed three million worldwide according to publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Team Ninja.
Nioh Shipments and Digital Sales Top 3 Million; Team Ninja Wants To Make new IP for PS5
Last we heard ofNiohsales was back in February 2019 where it celebrated topping over 2.5 million copies sold worldwide on its 2 year anniversary. Now reaching its 3 year anniversary developer Team Ninja and publisher Koei Tecmo have reported that Nioh has topped the 3 million mark in shipments as well as digital sales.

Nioh first launched internationally on Playstation 4 on February 2017, which was followed by PC via Steam in November 2017.
The sequel to theaction-RPGYokai adventureNioh 2will be launching on Playstation 4 on March 12th in Japan and March 13th worldwide. What are Team Ninja plans after Nioh 2? Well in a recent interview Team Ninja studio head Yosuke Hayashi told Eurogamer.pt, that they wanted to create a brand new IP forPlaystation 5.
I believe that a new console will bring new opportunities and we would like to create a new game, a new intellectual property for PlayStation 5,” Hayashi said. “We created the Nioh series for PS4 and we would like to do the same for PS5.
While no news of exactly what this IP might be about, whether is will be something similar to the successful Nioh franchise or something completely different is still unknown to make their mark on Playstation 5.
Nioh 2will release on Playstation 4 on March 13th 2020.
