Duringanother Capcom Special Program streamat Tokyo Game Show 2020, more gameplay details were revealed forMonster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. The livestream reconfirms that Red is not the player but is considered a legendary Monster Rider in the world. TheStories 2protagonist is a descendant of Red (the grandson) and you’ll be able to customize your protagonist in very different ways.
You can also chose from the main weapons in the mainlineMonster Hunterseries (sword and shield, hammer, hunting horn, and longsword), and four more weapons will be revealed at a later date.

Ena (a Wyverian girl) accompanies the protagonist and has been entrusted with an egg by a Ratha; she possesses a Kinship stone which is used by riders to bond with their mounts. Which is strange because she’s not a rider herself, but this contradiction seems to be key to the story (though details are still unknown).
