If there’s one thing that Ubisoft does well with their multitude of franchises, it’s creating dense environments filled with exploration. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is no different, as the vast world the studio has created is ripe for adventure. Whether it’s the various unique enemies you’ll come across on your adventures or investigating reported Yokai in the area, there feels like an overwhelming amount of content to dig your teeth into.
One such activity is participating in the numerous temples and shrines. Japan is a country of tradition and religion, at least back in the 1500s when Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes place. If you’ve ever been to the country, you’ll know that the number of temples and shrines feels infinite, and in Shadows, it’s well represented with some of the most iconic structures in the Kansai region.

Purpose of Temples & Shrines
With each of the temples and shrines, there will either be lost pages that need collecting or shrines that need to be prayed to. Doing so will unlock a good amount of EXP along with a Knowledge point that can be used to upgrade Nao and Yasuke. Some of these locations have surprisingly well-hidden collectibles, but with this guide you’ll have no problem finding them.
The Kiyomizudera Temple is found in the Yamashiro region of Japan. It is located immediately southeast of Kyoto, just across the river.

Lost Page #1
Arguably the most iconic and scenic temple in all of Japan, the Kiyomizudera is a massive temple that houses a number of collectibles to find. The first Lost Page can be found relatively early upon entering the Kiyomizudera grounds. When coming in from the west, continue forward until you reach the main large structure. There will be a Lost Page in the tree above a small Buddhist shrine. To get there, you will need to hop onto the main structure and position yourself to jump to a small branch indicated in yellow. Follow the handful of branches until you reach the Lost Page.

The second Lost Page can be found at the bottom of the Kiyomizudera Temple’s grounds. you may take a path to the east or west of the main structure until you reach a small pond. In the middle of this pond will sit the second Lost Page.

The final Lost Page is in the perfect spot to utilize the Photo Mode. Head all the way to the east on the main level of the Kiyomizudera Temple’s grounds until you reach some housing. Continue a little south until you reach a railing overlooking the temple and the beautiful nature around it. The Lost Page is sitting on the railing.
