Will the first outing for Jared Leto’s Michael Morbius see the vampiric antihero exploring the multiverse? A Tweet from eagle-eyedMarvelfan@hzjoetvhas certainly got people thinking. The user has listed many of the puzzle pieces from an assortment of franchises that have been spotted so far in the marketing material forMorbius, and it has left many wondering whether the movie will see the good(ish) doctor embark on an adventure across the madness of the multiverse.

Seeing the various elements being folded intoMorbiusaltogether like this does make one wonder just what exactly is going on. Glimpses of characters and details from the likes of Sam Raimi’sSpider-Manfranchise, theMarvel Cinematic Universe,The Amazing Spider-Manseries, and Tom Hardy’sVenomfranchise have all been spotted in the various trailers and images that have been released so far, and it unknown exactly how all of this exists in Morbius’ world.

Morbius the Living Vampire

So, this begs the question, will Morbius enter the multiverse? These scenes could all be set in different worlds that Morbius travels to throughout the movie, leading to run-ins with the likes of Michael Keaton’sSpider-Man: Homecomingvillain The Vulture, with the antihero perhaps able to traverse the alternate universes as a consequence of his newfound powers? It may sound crazy, but it would surely be an interesting way to introduce Morbius, as well as continuing both Sony and the MCU’s recent multiversal development.

Morbiusstar Jared Leto has teased this possibility in an earlier interview, with the actor suggesting that, not only will the character enter the fray of the multiverse, he will also eventually be involved with the infamous team The Sinister Six. “In the film version of Morbius that we’re bringing to you now, he’s also a part of a much larger universe,” Leto explained. “If you’ve seen the last Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, you know the Multiverse has officially opened, and there’s all kinds of opportunities for villains to meet up, thrive, and maybe even nurture their more sinister intents. That’s all I’m gonna say for right now.”

While this is all just some fun speculation at this stage, what we do know aboutMorbiusis that it is being directed by Daniel Espinosa and written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, and starsJared Letoas Michael Morbius, alongside Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson.Morbiuswill introduce one of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters, as Jared Leto is transformed into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.
