If you’re just starting in action RPG Outcast things can be a little confusing, with all kinds of currencies and upgrades to manage. One great way to go early is to upgrade your weapon modules in Outcast, so read on for my guide on how to do so below.
Outcast A New Beginning - How to upgrade weapon modules
Once you start taking down some droids and bases inOutcast: A New Beginning, you’ll begin to amassNano-Cells. Nana Cells are a resource that allows you to improve all kinds of technical gear, but early on you’ll be encouraged to use them in theCombat Upgrade menu. If you’re going down the ranged combat route, I’d suggest you takeModule Upgrade Iimmediately.

While nothing in-game tells you this, taking module Upgrade allows you to spend these Nano-Cells in a different part of the menu. Click across to theWeapon sectionof the menu and highlight any of your favorite weapon modules. Each has three levels, and by hovering over one of the modules andholding down X(see bottom right, above) you can nowupgrade this module to level 2.
For example, upgradingConcussive Shotincreases damage from40-60 percent, and upsDPS from 22-24. Later, you can takeModule Upgrade IIin the Combat Upgrade menu, allowing you to take your favorite upgrades up to level 3. If you’ve fallen in love with a particular module this is worth doing.

How to add more modules to weapons in Outcast
While on the Weapon screen, note thelocks at the bottom-middle of the screenof the pistol and rifle screens (above). You can also spend your Nan-Cells here toequip multiple upgradesto both weapons, which can then be upgraded. Why waste Nano-Cells on shields when you can maximize your damage output and use items to heal?
