How To Use Discord On Steam Deck

To installDiscordon yourSteam Deck, you’ll need first to enter Desktop Mode. This is done by pressing theSteam Buttonon your Deck and scrolling down toPower. Once here, pressAand selectSwitch To Desktop Mode.

Once insideDesktop Mode, select theDiscover Shop. Here, search forDiscordand install it. Boot it up like you normally would and sign in so you don’t have to attempt to do this later in theGaming Mode. After you have fully signed in, you’ll want toadd Discordas a Non-Steam game.

To do this, openSteamand look toward the bottom left corner. SelectAdd a Gameand selectNon-Steam Game. FindDiscordon the list of different options from the list above and then selectAdd Selected Programs. Once this is done, you can either addcustom artwork, or you can go back intoGaming Modeto test it out.

Open upDiscordfrom yourNon-Steam Gamestab, and enter a voice chat as you normally would. After you are connected and everything sounds proper, you’ll just want to hit theSteam Buttonon your Deck and selectLibrary. Select the game that you are going to play, and you’ll haveDiscordrunning in the background while you destroy the opposite team in the foreground. It’s that easy.
