Chris Columbushas shown nothing but love for the cast members of his beloved Christmas movie,Home Alone. In his latest interview about the holiday classic,he appraised one member of the McCallisters who doesn’t get enough recognition: the Pepsi-guzzling boy with the devilish smile, Fuller.
Also known as the bed-wetting cousin, Fuller is played byKieran Culkin, the younger member of the Culkin clan who joined his brother Macaulay in the production.Columbus, a director known for his great workwith young casts, spoke to The Hollywood Reporterabout howHome Alonestill manages to capture the attention of viewers, regardless of what year they were born in.

During the conversation, Columbus spoke about his work as a producer on the latest horror film to hit theaters,Nosferatu, a shift in tone in regard to what we’re used to seeing from him. But it’s the holidays, and how jolly can the season be without talking about 1990’sHome Alone? Columbus does talk about Macaulay Culkin’s presence in the movie, but he also used the opportunity to talk about the other Culkin:
“Kieran Culkin has become such a great actor. He was also in bothHome Alonepictures, and I thought his performance inA Real Painwas phenomenal. I would still like to see Mack act more often. I haven’t spoken to him in a while, but I read that he’s doing Fallout season two.Soit would be great to see him embrace acting again because he’s really great.”

Kieran Culkin’s career didn’t take off like his brother’s afterHome Alone. He still made notable films likeThe Mighty,Music of the Heart, andShe’s All That. But it wasn’t untilIgby Goes Downthat he was able to show his acting skills. However, in 2018, everything changed.
His role as Roman Roy in the TV seriesSuccessionwas phenomenal. The most immature of the Roy siblings, Roman, was the result of Culkin exploring a difficult character whose vulnerability was deep beyond many layers of an obnoxious and spoiled personality. For his performance in the last season of the show, Culkin won several awards, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe for Best Actor.
