Thanos was not only the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most powerful villain, but to this day the Josh Brolin character also remains the most popular antagonist of all.

What made him very appealing to viewers was the sense of calmness he oozed despite being a vicious genocidal warlord from Titan. He carried a universe-spanning agent to wipe out half of all life, and yet seldom seemed out of composure, partly because he was perhaps so much at peace about his pursuit. This all happened due to Brolin’s brilliant performance which added a lot of depth and calmness to the vicious character.
A sense of casualness amid all the violence prevailed in a more intensified way while he portrayed Matt Graver inSicario, which in a way also ended up being a source of irritation for the actor.

Made against a budget of $30 million, the movie did fine at the box office, collecting $85 million in worldwide collection. Brolin’s character was one of the highlights of the movie, as he left fans stunned with just how desensitized he was in the midst of all the violence. “He’s the leader. He needs to be the manipulator. He needs to be enticing. He needs to be charming. And I know he’s a little arrogant but there’s something, to me, really attractive about him.”
However, Brolin found something off during the filming. He said:
“That whole feeling of like, people said, ‘ You looked like you were having fun in the movie’. And I was like ‘I was irritated in Albuquerque’ and I think it was because of that levity.”
The 55-year-old further added that there was so much levity on the set that he became irritated off the set, and ended up also being annoyed by Albuquerque.

Josh Brolin Trolled Ryan Reynolds DuringDeadpool 2’s Promotion
Brolin might’ve been a bit annoyed with the abundance of levity during the filming of Blunt’sSicario, but in general, he enjoys laughing with and at his co-stars when not working.
InDeadpool 2, he portrayed the very serious soldier Cable opposite Ryan Reynolds’ ever-so-casual Wade Wilson. But during the movie’s promotion in 2018, Brolin showed he’s not any less funny than his co-star by brilliantly mocking him for his stint inGreen Lantern.

The pair appeared on an episode ofBBC Radio 1’sPlayground Insults, wherein Brolin decided to talk about one of Reynolds’ biggest box office disasters. Brolin quipped:
“Let’s talk about the obvious thing… Green Lantern.End of career, and yet you are still going.”
Reynolds didn’t have a good comeback for that and all he could do was laugh. Seconds later, he joined in on the joke.
