The first teaser for next May’s Marvel Cinematic Universe release ofGuardians of the Galaxy Vol.3has arrived and delivered the first look atWill Poulteras Adam Warlock. The character was initially teased back in the post-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2. Now he is finally about to make his debut in James Gunn’s final Marvel movie. Check out the first look at Poulter as Adam Warlock below.
Earlier this year,Poulter was revealed as having been cast in the iconic Marvel role, and he discussed how it took an “extreme transformation” to get him ready for the part. It also meant a lot of secretive work until he was finally allowed to speak about joining the MCU. At the time he said:

“It’s difficult talking about it because with Marvel it’s all secret squirrel, but the most important thing is that your mental and physical health has to be number one, and the aesthetic goals have to be secondary, otherwise you end up promoting something that is unhealthy and unrealistic if you don’t have the financial backing of a studio paying for your meals and training. I’m in a very privileged position in that respect, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone do what I did to get ready for that job. I’ve gone through a series of different diets over the last few months. Now I’m in a maintenance phase, which is quite nice. I’m not eating copious amounts of food to bulk, and I’m not cutting. I’m just maintaining my weight. I’ve gone through periods of looking at food and feeling like I can’t face it, and then you blink and the next minute you’re ready to eat furniture because you’re so hungry."
What WillGuardians of the Galaxy Vol.3Bring to the MCU?
As the movie is seen as the end of the current Guardians of the Galaxy line-up and the last movie to be written and directed byJames Gunnfor the foreseeable future, there are plenty of emotional moments to come from the third outing of the misfit superhero team. Gunn previously said:
“Vol. 3 has a lot of the fun and the goofy stuff of Guardians, but it’s also incredibly emotional. It’s the end of the story for this group of Guardians, so there was a lot of emotion around it. It was very serious a lot of the time. The actors were all pushing themselves a lot, especially Chris Pratt. It was heavy. I think I felt a lot of pressure before because it really matters to me that we end this story well. I’ll be honest, I started looking at all the trilogies that have existed throughout time, and in most trilogies, the third movie is awful. There’s a couple of exceptions, but when I say a couple, I mean like two or three. It’s very rare that the third movie in a franchise is good. So, it was important to me that we really ended this story in a good way.”
