Michael Sheenplays the angel Aziraphale. Aziraphale has been on Earth since the dawn of time. He once guarded the Garden of Eden with his flaming sword — a sword he would eventually bestow upon Adam and Eve upon their banishment from the garden. During his stay on Earth, Aziraphale has grown to appreciate the luxuries of human life. When he’s not interfering with divine plans or preventing Armageddon, Aziraphale can usually be found at his antique bookshop.

13David Tennant as Crowley
David Tennantthe demon Crowley was hell’s designated representative on Earth. He may look a little different now but Crowley was actually the serpent that tempted Eve to take the apple from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Like Aziraphale, Crowley has also learned to love his time on Earth as he revels in all the pleasures that human life has to offer.

12Jon Hamm as Gabriel
Jon Hammplays Gabriel the leader of the forces of Heaven. Unsurprisingly, Gabriel is a stickler for rules and was put in charge of orchestrating the end of days when the time finally came. However, things don’t go according to plan and the archangel soon finds himself on Earth with his memory wiped.

11Adria Arjona as Anathema Device
Adria Arjonaplays Anathema Device, the last living descendant of Agnes Nutter. Agnes Nutter is the author of the bookThe Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch. The book contains information on the events that lead to the end of the world. If Adria Arjona seems familiar to you, you may have seen some of her previous work. Arjona has appeared in films such asTriple Frontier,Morbius, and6 Underground.
10Jack Whitehall as Newton Pulsifer
Newton Pulsifer, a descendant of the witchfinder that burned Agnes Nutter at the stake Thou-Shall-Not-Commit Adultery Pulsifer, is played byJack Whitehall. Despite his witch-hunting lineage, capable and competent aren’t really words anyone would associate with Newton Pulsifer. However, what he lacks in competence he makes up for with his genuine kindness and acute intellect.

9Michael McKean as Witchfinder Sergeant Shadwell
Michael McKeanplays the de facto leader of the Witchfinder army Sergeant Shadwell. Shadwell is stubbornness in human form. And while this trait makes him a persistent witchfinder, it also makes him quite abrasive to those around him. You may recognize McKean from the seriesBetter Call Saulwhere he played Chuck McGill.
8Sam Taylor Buck as Adam Young
Sam Taylor Buckplays Adam Young. While he may not look the part, Adam is actually the Antichrist who’s destined to bring forth the end of times. Well, that’s what would have happened if things had just gone according to plan. Instead, Adam was switched at birth. This effectively put him outside the reach of both heaven and hell. Without their influence, Adam ended up being a perfectly normal kid that has little to no interest in ending the world.
Good Omensis Sam Taylor Buck’s most notable project to date. However, he did appear in a couple of episodes of the period dramaMedici.

7Miranda Richardson as Shax
After playing Madame Tracy in the show’s first season,Miranda Richardsonreturns as the demon Shax. Without giving too much away, Shax has seemingly taken over as Hell’s representative after Crowley was stripped of the position. You may recognize Miranda Richardson from hericonic portrayal of Rita Skeeterin theHarry Potterfranchise. Most recently, Richardson has been in the Netflix seriesFate: the Winx Saga.
6Shelley Conn as Beelzebub
Shelley Connplays Beelzebub, the leader of the forces of hell. Beelzebub is defined by their cold and calculating nature. They’ll do anything to further the interests of hell. Shelly Conn has appeared in a slew of different shows such asThe Rook,Liar, andBridgerton.
5Doon Mackichan as Michael
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions” is how the old adage goes. Nobody embodies this better than the archangel Michael. Michael, who is played byDoon Mackichan, will do anything to further the interests of the kingdom of heaven no matter the cost.
