Developer Vela Games announces the Closed Beta for EVERCORE Heroes will be commencing this June. A gameplay trailer dives into the mult-genre competitive PVE game.
Evercore Heroes Announces Closed Beta
Industry veterans from the likes of League of Legends, World of Warcraft and Fortnite are behind the upcoming PVE title EVERCORE Heroes. The closed beta will be kicking off thisJune 20thfor PC. A new gameplay trailer previews the game which boasts crossing multiple genres and a competitive PVE scene.
What EVERCORE Heroes Isn’t
EVERCORE Heroes is described as “not a MOBA”, or an “MMO” and also will not be a “loot grind”, so what is it? According to co-founder and CEO Travis George, the game combines “cooperative teamplay” with the nuisances of the “competitive PVE experience”. The developer believes both fans of PVE and PVP will find something to like in this game.
What it is - Gameplay Explained
Players will compete against four teams head to head, in what visually looks to be a mash-up of LOL and a strategy game. Except, instead of playing directly against player vs player, they will need to power up their Evercore to win. Other teams will appear in wisp form, their colour dictating their allegiance. So while you won’t be directly interacting with them, it will be the team with the best tactics and composition to gain the road to victory. As they charge up their Evercore, enemy monsters will spawn empowered by chaotic Luum.
This means defending what they’ve built and responding to the other team’s actions. Finding the right balance between sabotaging the enemy team while still also defending their own efforts will be the challenge. Each map has its own advantages, making for different strategies.

Things reach a head once the boss' domain has been infiltrated. Meaning all teams face the same boss in a “multi-phase fight”. It’s up to their skill and working with their team to win the match. It sounds like a far more focused team affair, which could make or break a match. There doesn’t seem to be too much detail yet about how the heroes will vary in abilities, but the mention of “power up their heroes” could mean they may have different roles to play. The gameplay screenshots show classic QWER abilities.
How to Join the EVERCORE Heroes Closed Beta?
The game aims to be free-to-play. In order to join the closed beta Founder’s Packs can be purchased. These packs also contain extra keys to give to friends, so you can all play together during the beta. Founder’s Packs include other bonuses such as exclusive content, battle pass (no expiration) and more. There’s an added bonus of an ultra-rare Velo Beko skin, so there look to be cosmetic items as well.
What’s in the Closed Beta?
Those joining the closed beta will get a taste of gameplay with three unique stages to experience. Each stage has its own items, foes and head-to-head encounters. Players can pick from sixteen heroes. This includes Grayce a graceful but deadly dancer. Skye a mage wielding the power of the weather and a corrupted hero Faede who can channel the power of Luum. There’s also Kaine, Maxx, Oria, Riiva and Syrus.
A Team of Veterans
The studio behind the game is made up of a team of over 60 staff members. The developer includes talent that has worked on titles such asLeague of Legends,World of Warcraftand even Fornite. Coming from such industry giants as Riot andBlizzard. This mix of different genres and extensive time in the industry seems like a solid foundation for new multi-genre game like EVERCORE Heroes.
EVERCORE Heroes closed beta kicks off June 20th. The game sets to release sometime in 2023.
