Elden Ringis a game that has a lot of replay value, not only because of New Game Plus and because of the PVP multiplayer options, but also because of the sheer number of unique builds that you can lean into with different stats, items and weapons. This is partly whyShadow of the Erdtree’srelease has been so exciting. With all these new areas to explore, that naturally means that there are going to be more items to experiment with.

Deadly and elegant.
Many of the best items are hidden away pretty well in this DLC, while some even require you to get your hands on Imbued Sword Keys to access new areas, such as the Verdigris Discus – an interesting item for players with high endurance and weight. It’s worth getting your hands on, and in this guide, I’m going to show you how.

How to Get The Imbued Sword Key
To get your hands on this new talisman, you must find an Imbued Sword Key to activate a portal to the area in question. There’s a key that is in close proximity to the portal that can be found in Castle Ensis, the area where you take on Rellana.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree: Imbued Sword Key Location
Like the base game, Shadow of the Erdtree has many secrets and some are locked behind the Imbued Swords Key.
You don’t need to beat Rellana to get this key, but you will need to go deep into her castle to find this item. This is found near the area where you encounter Moonrithyll, Carian Knight, and you begin to see the Burger King heads of Raya Lucaria in the base game. Where To Go To Find Verdigis Discus
After you get your hands on thisImbued Sword Key, you’ll want to exit the castle and make your way to Highland Cross, a Site of Grace north of the Castle. From here, you’ll want to follow the cliff edge on the left and work your way down to the water edge. If you see a giant wandering around, then you’re on the right track.
Cross the water and head up the hill toward the Church Building. You’ll find an inoperable portal here, but if you offer your Imbued Sword Key, this will activate the portal, and when you activate it, it will take you to a particular area of the Ancient Ruins of Rauh.

Once here, you’ll want to head up the hill, and across the expanse of water, you’ll see an enemy in the distance. They are a relatively strong enemy that will use ranged arrow attacks and two-blade melee combos.
You could easily fight this enemy alone, but seeing as you are allowed to use summons in this area, why not bring yourMimic Tear Ashesto the party, and they can completely trivialize this fight? There are no more threats in the area, so you are safe to proceed.

Then, directly up ahead, you will see an altar of sorts, and it is here that you will be able to pick up theVerdigris Discus. Also, there isn’t much else of note in this area, so once you grab it, feel free to fast-travel to a convenient Site of Grace.
Is Verdigis Discus Good?
The Verdigris Discus Talisman is one that the jury is still out on in terms of it being a natural fit for a bespoke build. It’s a talisman that will suit players with a lot of endurance and a higher weight capacity. When the player enters the ‘heavy’ weight class, this talisman kicks into gear and grants players a 10% defense boost. Which is always welcome in tough fights.
Many fans, however, see this as a missed opportunity byFromSoft. A talisman that scaled with the overall carry weight rather than one with an effect tied to a weight bracket would have been much better, as players could then have really leaned into the effect and created super-heavy builds to become insanely tanky.

If you are someone who runs a strength and endurance melee build, however, this will feel like something that is custom-made for you and can be equipped without having to do much to accommodate it at all. 10% more defense across the board is nothing to be sniffed at. So, even if you’re on the fence about this one, grab it just in case.
