Developers Rabbit & Bear Studios and Natsume Atari and publisher 505 Games have announced the 2.5D Action-RPG Eiyuden Chronicle will be releasing May 10th.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising will be launching on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG onMay 10th 2022for $14.99. It sets to be a companion prequel game for upcomingEiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroeswhich releases in 2023.

Rising will follow the events of a massive earthquake that hits a town on the frontier of the Allraan called New Nevaeh, revealing Runebarrows. This attracts fortune seekers and merchants from far and wide. Amongst the hopefuls of treasure hunters are three star-crossed heroes. CJ, the Venerable Scavenger, Garoo the Beastman Mercenary, and Isha the Young Deputy Major who wishes to rebuild the town.

In this adventure, players will take to the ruins and master the combat Eiyuden Chronicle Rising has to offer. CJ has climbing axes that strike, and his dash offers speed. Isha offers sling sorcery and Garoo has a mighty sword ready to take on foes. With these heroes take on bosses, swapping between character moves and using Link Attacks which can combine their specialities.

Not all is what is seems as Runebarrows as it is deep-rooted in conspiracies that will have some shocking outcomes affecting the Eiyuden Chronicle universe. Rising will also receive cross content with upcoming Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes which will be releasing in 2023, which includes cosmetic items, valuable equipment and trade goods. Naming certain weapons and delicacies will carry over into Hundred Heroes when it releases.

What is Eiyuden Chronicle Rising?

In case you missed Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising was actually a stretch goal of Hundred Heroes, which hit all of its goals and then some. In Kickstarter post the developer explained that Rising started out as a small project, something comparable toBloodstained: Ritual of the Nightand the 8-bit game that was funded Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. However, it has grown much much bigger, partnering with developer Natsume Atari.

This small project grew into a game that was envisioned as anAction-RPGwhere you rebuild a town, playing differently from the main series of games. The game sets to have a 2.5D aesthetic with side-scroller combat, with a story that focuses on events happening before Hundred Heroes.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Risingreleases on May 10th for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, Epic and GOG. It will also be available day one on Xbox and PC Game Pass.
