BioWare confirms thatDragon Age: The Veilguardhas gone gold. The new RPG is ready for release and will arrive on the scheduled launch date, October 31.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Will Finally Be Released
On October 31, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will finally be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This is a milestone for BioWare, which is aiming to deliver the most ambitious RPG of the year, as only this studio can.
This installment will have it all: from a dreamlike visual experience to complex romances between companions, in addition to a story that picks up the torch from 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard has GONE GOLD!Thank you all for your support as we cross this important milestone. See you in Thedas on Oct. 31! Pre-order now:https://t.co/m9QGhR0odApic.twitter.com/XQQOopRfXE— Dragon Age (@dragonage)June 17, 2025
The anticipation surrounding The Veilguard has only continued to grow, and even pre-orders are looking promising. For those fearing a possible delay, rest assured, that won’t be the case for this RPG.

Via a message on their X account, Dragon Age brought the best news: The Veilguard is finished and has gone gold, meaning the game will meet its planned October 31 release date.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Without Delays
The fear of a delay always looms over major releases. For example, another RPG, Obsidian’s highly anticipated Avowed for Xbox Series X/S and PC, postponed its release from the end of the year to June 23, 2025, to avoid Game Pass congestion.
But the case of The Veilguard is quite special, as the October 31 date marks the end of a long ten-year journey—the time the project has been in development, facing numerous setbacks.

From an early scrapped version to a multiplayer Dragon Age 4, BioWare needed a lot of time to decide on the direction for this installment. This effort will finally bear fruit in just a few weeks.
Those ten years are also reflected in The Veilguard, which takes place a decade after the events of Inquisition, in a Thedas that has deteriorated throughout that period. Rook, the character you control in the game, faces the monumental task of saving the world from the clutches of Ghilan’nain.
To do so, they recruit a group of diverse heroes to embark on the greatest adventure in the saga. The Veilguard introduces a direct-action combat system similar to Final Fantasy XVI’s.
