CD Projekt Red are now clearly hard at work fixingCyberpunk 2077. Aftera giant apology videofrom one of the studio’s co-founders, Marcin Iwiński, the company laid out a roadmap, pledging to fix the issues with the game. The roadmap promised both update 1.1 and 1.2, before further “updates and improvements” and therelease of free DLCs.
Afterreleasing hotfix 1.1 just under a week ago, CD Projekt Red has now released a further patch,1.11. The latest update addresses two new issues that were caused by the update prior.
Hotfix 1.11 restores item randomization to its previous state and also fixes an issue in theDown on the Streetquest. Within the quest, players would enter a holocall with Goro Takemura, however, the call would be missing dialogue options and block interactions with different NPCs. This stopped players being able to progress through the game.
CD Projekt Red’s hand has been forced into these apologies and updates due to the state the game initially launched in. A number ofgame-breaking bugs, horrendous visual glitchesandmajor performance issues on last-gen consoles.
These problems have caused a variety of further issues for the Polish studio. They are facinga potentially massive fine from Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection(UOKiK),a number of class-action lawsuitsandthe removal of the game from the PS4 and PS5 stores. Alongside this, CD Projekt Red has been forced intorefunding a huge number of copies ofCyberpunk 2077. This myriad of issues caused the studio’s founders tolose a whopping $1 billion between them.
Despite the issues, however,Cyberpunk 2077’scommercial launch was extremely successful. The gameinstantly recouped its development costs, sold over 13 million units in the first ten daysandtopped a variety of sales charts.
Cyberpunk 2077’slatest patch is available for download now on PC, consoles and Google Stadia.
