Game Science, the team behind the action RPGBlack Myth Wukong,has confirmed they’ll be at theGamescom 2025 Opening Night Livehosted by Geoff Keighley onAugust 19.
Black Myth Wukong DLC Coming
The Chinese studio teased an announcement without specifics, sparking fan speculation about the long-awaitedDLC. The post came with sumi-e style art reminiscent of the game’s aesthetic featuring anthropomorphic animals and mythical monsters inspired byJourney to the West.
Back inSeptember 2024, just two weeks after launch, the studio confirmed they were working on additional content, revealing sales had already surpassed18 million copies. Fans expected the expansion to be revealed late last year, but instead got afree Boss Rush mode.
So far, no new details about the DLC have been given, other than the confirmation that it’s in development. In the meantime, Game Science has focused on polishing the base game addingPC upscaling tech, performance optimizations, andPS5 Proenhancements.
One day after ONL, and exactly one year after its original release,Black Myth Wukongwill finally arrive onXbox Series X|S. Despite no official exclusivity deal with Sony, PlayStation admitted in March it gave “a huge amount of support” during development. The studio’s CEO explained that the Xbox launch was delayed due tooptimization challengesonSeries S.

Black Myth Wukong will share the ONL stage withResident Evil Requiem,Silent Hill f,Ninja Gaiden 4,World of Warcraft: Midnight, andLords of the Fallen 2, among others.
