The remaster does a tremendous job of bringing the classic pixelated graphics and sound effects to a higher resolution for modern players. Nothing beats taking down Stormtrooper sprites with a variety of blasters and explosives while roaming a textured environment that emulates the films. Even its easy-to-follow narrative is made better with the use of cutscenes, which sound a bit crunchy, but for a game from 1995, is acceptable for the time.

Ever want to play from the Empire’s perspective and take down rebel scum? Well, consider that desire fulfilled in this combat flight simulator. You play the role of a rookie pilot serving their first tour of duty after the events of The Empire Strikes Back. With the TIE Fighter of your choosing, you’ll battle pirates, traitors, and all manner of filth that dare stand against the Empire.
Another oldie that still retains its title as a goodie. Despite Star Wars: TIE Fighter’s age, the polygons and bit sound effects only add to the game’s everlasting charm as you fly through space blasting enemy fighters. Also, there’s no shift in alliance. You stick with the Empire from beginning to end, yet the only real evil here is the fact that this lost gem has yet to receive a remaster for modern systems.

In a style similar to the original God of War, The Force Unleashed’s strong points come from its gameplay. You’re not just gently shoving people or mildly zapping them with weak lightning, you’re mowing down enemies and launching them across the map. The Force Unleashed shows what a powerful ally the force can be as you create all forms of mayhem against a diverse array of enemies and bosses.

While some might be deterred by its dated graphics, that doesn’t take away from the experience.

Luke Skywalker is rebuilding the Jedi Order by starting a new academy to train students. As a new apprentice, you’ll be given a master and taught the ways of the force, while also undertaking missions to better your abilities.
Jedi Academy allows players to design their apprentice and lightsaber. Although the character options are limited compared to modern gaming, being able to choose the design and color of your lightsaber right from the get-go is great, and yes, you may choose to later upgrade to two lightsabers or even a double-bladed one. The game features third-person and first-person combat. Either gun down foes or engage them with your lightsaber and force powers. Whichever you choose, you’ll come to learn that Jedi Academy has some of the best lightsaber combat, turning one-on-one duels into exciting matches. And unlike modern Star Wars, it’s not afraid to show your enemies’ appendages slicing off.

If that wasn’t enough, it has almost 400 characters to unlock and play, each with their own style of gameplay and costumes. Which also includes the vehicles you can use to travel on land or in space. This whole game is like handing a child a bunch of LEGOS and letting them go nuts in an open-world sandbox. It’s messy, but you’ll have a blast.

Choose your side, be it the clones of the Republic versus the Separatists droids, or the Rebel Alliance against the Galactic Empire, and fight in battles spanning a wide selection of maps on ground or in space. Every side comes with a team of combatants you can select, including familiar heroes and villains from the franchise that can tip the balance of every battle. It may be showing its age, but it doesn’t take away from the fun and content, especially when playing online with friends. Hopefully,instead of a subpar port, it’ll get an actual remaster one day.

Where some games try to make players feel powerful, Fallen Order focuses more on difficulty. Similar to Dark Souls, the combat follows a similar style of challenge and reward. Your character is not a master, so it makes sense he’s going to struggle, and death has consequences. But with patience and practice, this is one amazing adventure and a must-play for fans. The enemies, environments, and bosses all have a level of polish that look lifted straight out of the movies. Plus, you get an adorable droid for a sidekick.

In a first-person shooter that could compete with Halo or Call of Duty, Republic Commando remains the most immersive and atmospheric video game in the Star Wars collection. The game can feel almost creepy at times as it shows a darker side to the Clone War, with enemies that look and feel threatening. Even the cartoonish battle droids from the movies are turned into fierce fighters. However, that only adds to the fun when you’re blasting the clankers’ heads off.
