Some builds inMonster Hunter Wildsare going to be more specialized than others. You can have several different builds per weapon, with many having a generic raw dps version. But when playing with the options available, you can make something that will allow you to aid others in hunts while being aggressive, like a paralysis build for the Dual Blades. These weapons are great for this build as they will allow you to be on the offensive for the entire hunt while also stopping a monster rampage frequently.

Best Weapons for Beginners in Monster Hunter Wilds

Many new players will be joining the hunt, but which weapons will be the best to start with?

Craft the Artian Dual Blades

The Artian Weapon will be the starting point for this paralysis build.

Crafting the Tiltkreise Artian Weapon with the Paralysis element will be the best starting point for the build. You can also use the Lala Harpactirs Dual Blades, but the gem slots are going to be less impactful for a monster weapon in comparison to the Artisan Weapon. The Tiltkreise will have a guaranteed three slots for rank-3 jewels, allowing you to have more freedom in how you get your build off the ground. Craft the Tiltkreise weapons. You can use any combination of Attack or Affinity weapon parts to craft them. These will vary based on how comfortable you are with your damage output and paralysis affinity.

Skill Description

Tiltkreise

Paralyzer Jewel [3]

Increases the rate of paralysis buildup.

Rzr Sharp/Handicraft Jewel [3]

Prevents your weapon from losing sharpness.

Extends the weapon sharpness gauge. However, it will not increase the gauge past its maximum.

Critical Jewel [3]

Increases the damage of critical hits.

The Critical and Paralyzer jewels will be the central part of the weapon jewels in the build. These two in combination will allow you to stop monsters more often during a hunt. There are a few options for the Rzr Sharp/Handicraft Jewel, but there is a good reason why you should go with this gem for the slot. Since you will almost always be on the attack with the Dual Blades, you will want some help with the weapon’s sharpness not going down. The Razor Sharp portion of the jewel will give you a 50% chance of no sharpness loss, making it an amazing option for a jewel slot that will allow you to keep the pressure on a monster.

Crafting the Paralysis Build Armor

The build’s main damage potion will be set on the weapons; for the armor, you will want to focus on your defensive options.

It may seem odd to go with rank 7 armor over rank 8 armor, but for specialized builds you will want to explore all armors for their Equipment Skills. For this build, you’ll want to stick with some armor that will give you more defensive skills with a few offensive ones to even everything out. This is what the Gore Magala armor will be for, and it will make up the majority of the armor you’ll need to craft.

Gore Helm B

Evade Window

Extends the invulnerability period when evading.

Coalescence

Temporarily increases the elemental attack power and status effects after recovering from blights or abnormal status.

Gore Mail B

Guardian Arkveld Vambraces B

Weakness Exploit

Increases the affinity of attacks that exploit a monster’s weak points and wounds.

Gore Coil B

Constitution

Reduces stamina depletion when evading, blocking, or doing certain other actions.

Gore Greaves B

Once infected, it makes it easier to overcome the Frenzy and increases affinity if cured.

Flinch Free

Prevents knockbacks and other reactions to small damage.

Challenger Charm II

Increases attack power and affinity when large monsters become enraged.

Corrupted Mantle

Decreases health, but increases affinity and weapon performance while equipped. Repeated attacks on monsters will further increase your attack power and affinity.

The Gore Magala B set of gear may not offer a ton of extra skills in comparison to some other sets, but the skills offered up are too good to pass up. The secondary set offers up somewhat limited equipment skills but more armor decoration slots, making them perfect for some more specialized builds. The Challenger Charm will also give you a small boost in attack power and affinity once a monster reaches the enrage phase of the fight. Pairing all of these with the Corrupted Mantle will give you an even greater boost to your affinity, allowing you to build up even more paralysis on the monsters you hunt.

Monster Hunter Wilds - Alpha Doshaguma Hunt

Equipping Armor Decorations

Now that you have the armor and weapon drafted, you’ll need decorations to equip your armor for further overall ability.

Armor Decoration

Tenderizer Jewel [3]

Sprinter Jewel [1]

Growth Jewel [1]

x2 Sprinter Jewel [1]

Physique Jewel [1]

Jumping Jewel [2]

Counterattack Jewel [3]

Sane Jewel [1]

When slotting in armor decorations you will want to prioritize all the major three-slot pieces to go toTenderizer Jewelsfor this build. Your overall equipment will maximize Evade Window with their built-in skills. This will allow you to use the Tenderizer Jewels to increase your weapon affinity while on hunts when striking weak points and wounds on a monster. At the max rank, your attacks on a weak point will have a30%increase in affinity and an extra20%on the monster wounds.

The rank 1 jewels you’ll want to snag for the build are mostly about personal preferences. However, theSprinter Jewelsare probably the best ones you’ll want to get for your armor. These will reduce continuous stamina depletion by50%, making these jewels key in keeping Demon Mode active for as long as possible. TheGrowth Jewelis another great choice as it will passively increase your attack and defense the longer the hunt goes on, at a maximum of 30 minutes.

Monster Hunter Wilds - Night

The final rank 1 jewel you may want to consider will be thePhysique Jewel. With two of these gems paired with the equipment skills, you can get the Constitution skill up to level 4. At level 4, the skill will further reduce your fixed stamina depletion by40%. These smaller jewels may not add a ton of offensive boosts to the build, but they do allow you to be more aggressive with your playstyle to make up for it. You can also switch some of these out with theAmbush Jewelif you can get frequent sneak attacks on monsters.

Now that your weapon and armor have the decorations attached, you are ready to head out and hunt your favorite monsters. You will be able to apply paralysis on monsters regularly with this build in particular, but they will slowly get stunned less throughout the fight. You’ll need to take advantage of the jewels, which will increase your affinity to apply them more often when hunting larger monsters. The Dual Blades are a great weapon that will enable you to be aggressive throughout your time in the game. Applying paralysis to monsters will let you throw out even more attacks against monsters while on a hunt.
