Tom Hardy is an actor who stands up for people. Whether it is about mundane things or for the rights of his crew, he is unafraid to stand up and speak out. Due to his powerful aura, he often gets roles that can easily stand out. From one iconic role to another, he has established himself as a powerful actor.

There have been roles like Venom and Bane that add him to the superhero genre. However, there was one role that could have given him another entry in the reigns of the heroes and villains. With the range that the actor has, it is no doubt that he gets offers left and right, but this one role he was only glad to have seen slip by him.

Tom Hardy Almost Became An X-Men Villain
Tom Hardyhas been Venom and he has been Bane. The actor has been an anti-hero as well as a supervillain. Similarly, Oscar Isaac has been Spider-Man 2099, Moon Knight, and Apocalypse. However, it would be rather peculiar to see the actors jumbling their characters up a bit. The directors forX-Men: Apocalypsewanted a famous actor to play the titular villain of the film and their ultimate choice turned out to be Isaac who heavily regretted doing the film.
Before the actor was considered for the role, Hardy was their top choice. Although the offer perhaps never reached the actor, there was a strong chance for him to actually get the role. Ironically enough, Hardy had been considered for another role in the franchise on a previous occasion. It can be said that he has a knack for the superhero genre. For a potentialX-Men: First Classsequel, Matthew Vaughn was looking to cast Hardy as a younger version of Wolverine. Hardy did get lucky having skipped overX-Men: Apocalypsebecause of the major box office disaster that it turned out to be.

Tom Hardy’s Knack For Superhero Roles
Tom Hardy might just have the accurate look for a lot of superheroes and villains because of how many times he either gets fan cast or directors actually look to cast him as one. Out of the many opportunities he could have gotten, Doctor Strange, later played by Benedict Cumberbatch, was one of them as well. He also had a part in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad which was later something he moved on from.
Apart from that, the actor also set out to play Sandman in a Sinister Six concept art that could have materialized in earlySpider-Manfilms which never got made, unfortunately. Hardy’s range in movies aside, his range in superhero roles can have its own specific list.
