Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Launch Pushed to February 13th 2024
The ghost-hunting Action-RPG Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden has had its release pushed to next year. The game will now be launching onFebruary 13th 2024instead of its original release date of November 7th 2023. Publisher Focus Entertainment’s managing director John Bert and Oskar Guilbert the CEO of Don’t Nod released a joint statement explaining the delay is to avoid the busy end-of-year releases and to target a “less saturated period” in order to give the game “the attention it deserves”.
This year has been one of the busiest times for game releases since the pandemic caused many delays for the gaming industry. We had titles such asBaldur’s Gate 3,Starfield,Lies of PandCyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion all in the space of a couple of months. The end of the year still has some major games underway with such titles asLords of the Fallen,The Lamplighter’s League,Assassin’s Creed Mirage,Alan Wake 2and more. This isn’t the first game to be pushed by a few months too, just recentlyAlone in the Dark got delayedto January 2024 despite expected for October.

We have decided to postpone the release of this new franchise by three months, as the market is experiencing an intense release cycle for AAA titles on PC and consoles at the end of the year. We are convinced that a commercial release of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden during a less saturated period will give it the attention it deserves.

While it does mean we’ll have to wait until next year to start hunting down spectres, it also means the game will spend a few more months being polished. Recently Don’t Nod has sharedmore gameplayof Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. We got to see how both ghost hunters Red and Antea will be pairing up to fight spirits. There have also been teases of some heavy decision making which will weigh upon players as they choose from multiple choices that impact the game.
