The base game of Cities Skylines 2, without using any of theavailable mods, has ten maps available to choose from. All of have their own unique qualities and attributes, with something to offer players of all kinds.
We went through each available map in Cities Skylines 2, looking for what details stood out about each one. Then, we’ve conveniently listed them and their facts for you to get a helpful and comprehensive overview.
All maps in Cities Skylines 2
Archipelago Haven
A European map in the Northern Hemisphere with a temperate climate, Archipelago Haven presents aninteresting map for players. A series of little land plots are scattered throughout, which does cause a low amount of buildable land. But it is alsohigh in both oil and fertile land, making it attractive for resource collection.
Barrier Island
Another option with detached land, Barrier Island is a map with more buildable area than the similarly laid out Archipelago Haven. It hasplenty of ore and fertile land, but a very low amount of oil. The climate is pleasantly warm in the Southern Hemisphere.
Great Highlands
A European map in the Northern Hemisphere, Great Highlands is lot of hills and flat mountain with some shallow valleys. This means ahigh amount of fertile land, oil, and a small amount of forestryand ore. Outside connections on this map are plentiful, and it has an above average amount of buildable land.
A series of lakes andforest heavy land, Lakeland is a ideal for players who want lots of water without having to deal with low buildable areas seen on coastlines. It also provides agood amount of oil and fertile land. The European map has cold winters and mild warmth in spring and summer.

Mountain Village
Mountain Village is a European map with a temperate climate that ranges heavily in between seasons, with a low amount of buildable land. The mountainous range along the map lower the amount of buildable area, but it doesoffer a lot of all resources, except for oil.
River Delta
With a higher than average buildable land, River Delta is another option for those wanting flat and open spaces for a less challenging terrain. The maps boasts a varied temperate climate with agood amount of fertile land, forestry, and oil, though only a small amount of ore.
Sweeping Plains
Sweeping Plains is a pretty standard map and smooth map, but it does offer agood spread of resourcesamongst the four options. The climate is a mildly temperate North American one in the Southern Hemisphere. It has an average amount of buildable land, but full outside connections.

Twin Mountain
Oil rich with a fair amount of fertile land, Twin Mountain is a decent option amongst the maps available. It has a slightly above average amount of buildable land andplenty of oil, and has a cool European climate in the Northern Hemisphere. There areno outside train tracks, meaning you must create it all yourself.
Waterway Pass
Two mountains sit against either boundary of Waterway Pass, creating a valley with ahigh amount of fertile landand a central river. This one is in the Northern Hemisphere and has the highest amount of buildable area of all the maps. It has a mild to warm climate, depending on the season.
Windy Fjords
Windy Fjords is a coastal map with many fjord structures jutting out into distinctive patterns. It provides alot of oil and fertile land, with a mild climate in the Southern Hemisphere. The unique layout offers a challenge for players with the infrastructure and roads.
