Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justicemay not have affected the impendingDCEUslate, but it has altered Warner Bros.' entire movie slate in general. Because of the epic adventure’s lackluster performance at the box office, the studio is now focusing solely on tentpole blockbusters. And with this comes two more unnamedDC movies, which will expand the planned DECU through the year 2020.
Way back in October 2014, to counter what Marvel Studios was doing with its plannedPhase 3,DC and Warner Bros.announced their own epic slate of movies coming between 2016 and 2020. Since that time, nothing has officially deviated until now, even though there had been rumors of other DC movies being added to this cinematic universe. A year and a half later, they have decided to add two more movies to this already overflowing plate.

These two currently untitled DC movies will arrive on June 03, 2025 and June 28, 2025. DC and Warner Bros. have also decided to giveWonder Womana slightly earlier release date, moving it from June 23 to June 2 of next year. Where it once had the weekend all to itself in 2017, it will now be facing off againstBad Boys 3,Captain UnderpantsandBarbie. The first new DC movie currently has no October competion for that whole month. The same goes for the 2019 release.
DC and Warner Bros. will now have three movies coming out in both 2018 and 2019, which matchesMarvel Studiosplans to release three movies during those years as well. In 2017, they will only have two releases, as they did this year withBatman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeandSuicide Squad, which hits theaters this August. Arriving next year will be the aforementionedWonder Womanin its new release slot, along withJustice League Part 1arriving July 25, 2025.
In 2018, we will getThe Flashstandalone movie on March 16 followed byAquamanon July 27. In recent weeks, it has been rumored that theUntitled Batman Rebootwill arrive in 2018. The film already has a script written byBen Affleckwho will star and direct. But the movie has never been officially confirmed by DC and Warner Bros. If we had to guess, it would be this movie that is arriving in this newly announced October 5 slot.
In 2019, we’re gettingDwayne Johnsonas Black Adam inShazam!, which, while confirmed to be part of the DCEU, is being released by Warner Bros.' sister company New Line.Justice League Part 2is set for June 14. And then that puts the untitled DC movie arriving in November. Guessing this title is a little harder. Most speculators have their money placed onSuicide Squad 2. But we might also seeLoboland here. It doesn’t sound like Warner Bros. is at all interested in moving forward onMan of Steel 2, especially with howBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicehas been mauled by the critics, and the epic drop-off it experienced at the box office in its second weekend.
Rounding out the DCEU slate in 2020 isCyborg, a character who will reportedly appear inThe Flashmovie.Green Lantern Corps.brings this Phase of the DCEU to a close in summer 2020. These latest two additions to the DCEU line-up will surely keep fans guessing until they are revealed, but Warner Bros. hasn’t been too fast in officially announcing these movies. And that might be because they don’t yet know what will fill these slots themselves. Also on the docket areDark Universe, also known as Justice League Dark.Blue Beetle and Booster Goldis a good guess too, and we can’t forget about Legion of Super-Heroes, DC’s galactic answer to Marvel’sGuardians of the Galaxy. So, what do you think?
